The innovation that powers Confidence-Based Learning is its patented process where learning begins with a question that leads to building a knowledge profile.  The focus of CBL is to help students understand where they have gaps in knowledge.  The process begins by allowing the student to answer a series of questions in a given topic area.  Once the student understands what their knowledge profile looks like, he/she is able to fix those gaps until all questions in the topic area have been mastered.
